Our last evening in Firenze ... for now.

Today David and I reached our limit: traveller's fatigue!  Could not take another step.  We went back to the wonderful restaurant at the end of our block because we were too tired to go any further.  Lucky for us because this time we tried the antipasti and they were glorious.  Magnifico!  Foodies, start to salivate now: mussels, herring, olives, sundried tomatoes, meatballs, stuffed green pepper, a myriad
of roasted vegetables local, in season, and all with mouth-watering olive oil, garlic and herbs, served in beautiful earthenware dishes.  Don't forget the anchovies: wide, flat and swimming (!) in lemon and parsley.  Remember Bobo and the Grand Ticino Ristorante in Moonstruck?  Just like that.  I thought of Jamie Oliver and his quest and wished he had been there to see it.  He would have been so pleased.
Lucky for us it is the harvest season and the food gets better every day.
Today we leave Firenze for Spoleto.  Arrivedercci!

World championship event goes right through old Florence, complicating getting to places because of fences and crowds.
